What happens if someone tries to hurt the two witnesses in Revelation 11?
According to Revelation 11, if anyone tries to hurt the two witnesses, fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemies. They possess special protective power while proclaiming God's Word, and anyone who would hurt them must be killed in this manner.
Les teaches that the two witnesses are God's messengers during the tribulation, standing before the God of the earth like a spiritual lighthouse in the midst of tribulation darkness. In verse 5, when any man will hurt them, or try, fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemy. They are given special power for their own protection as they proclaim the Word of God, and if any man would hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. Les also notes that these witnesses have power to shut heaven so it does not rain during their prophecy, and power over waters to turn them to blood and to smite the earth with plagues as often as they will. These abilities lead many to think one witness could be Elijah, or possibly Moses, though Les says he does not get dogmatic.
And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
