When was Jesus speaking in Matthew 24?

Jesus spoke in Matthew 24 during His earthly ministry, while He was still on the earth. This was before His death and resurrection, and before the gospel of grace was known. The context places His words within His ministry time frame prior to the cross.

Les teaches that Jesus is speaking from within His earthly ministry time frame, still on the earth. He directs attention to Matthew 24:13, where Jesus says, 'He that shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved,' and verse 14, which speaks of 'this gospel of the kingdom.' Les points out that many people twist this to mean the gospel of grace, but he insists that at that time they did not know the gospel of grace, because Christ had not yet died and had not yet been raised from the dead. So Jesus' words in Matthew 24 were spoken before His death and resurrection, during His earthly ministry.

Matthew 24:13

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Matthew 24:14

And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
