Why will God pour out His wrath after such a long period of grace?
After nearly 2,000 years of grace, salvation offered by faith plus nothing has been spurned, walked underfoot, and rejected. Because grace cannot be taken for granted forever, God will still enter in with wrath and vexation. The warning stands for those not yet saved, while believers are not appointed unto wrath.
Les explains that God has poured out His grace upon humanity for almost 2,000 years, offering salvation on the basis of faith plus nothing. But that grace has been walked underfoot, spurned, and rejected for so long. Therefore, God will still enter in with His wrath and vexation, because His grace cannot be taken for granted forever. For believers, the Lord has promised they are not appointed unto wrath but will be saved out of it. For those not yet ready, who have never expressed salvation by faith in the gospel, these are words of warning. Even if the scoffer denies it, these things are coming on the earth because the Word of God lays it out clearly.
