How long has it been since God poured out His wrath?

For nearly 2,000 years, God has not been pouring out His wrath. This present age is the age of grace, so even the ungodly and wicked are still dealt with in grace, not judgment or wrath. Catastrophes and disasters are not His wrath. The flood was not His wrath but an act of mercy and cleansing.

Les explains that verse 18 presents the flip side of salvation: God is also a God of wrath. Yet for nearly 2,000 years, God has not been pouring out wrath whatsoever. Les notes that while catastrophes, earthquakes, and disasters may occur to get man's attention, they are not the wrath of God, because we live in the age of grace. Even to the ungodly and those steeped in wickedness, God is still dealing in grace, not judgment or wrath. Les also points out that the flood, awful as it was, was not God's wrath; it was an act of mercy to unborn generations, a cleansing of the slate and starting over, because the world was filled with violence.
