About how long after Adam's creation did the flood happen, and when was the Tower of Babel?

About 1,400 years after Adam's creation, the flood occurred. Shortly after the flood, humanity reached the Tower of Babel. Then at 2,000 B.C., God began something different by promising Abram that a nation, Israel, would come from him. This timeline moves from Genesis to Abraham.

Les teaches that, coming back from Genesis and the creation of Adam and mankind as we know it, about 1,400 years later the flood occurred. Shortly after the flood came the Tower of Babel, which the listener should remember. Then at 2,000 B.C., God did something totally different, still out of the mainstream of Adam, by pulling off one separate nation. He promised Abram, also called Abraham, that out of him would come a nation of people, the nation of Israel, through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who are now normally referred to as the Jews. Les explains that all through the Old Testament economy it was predominantly Jew only with exceptions, because God is sovereign and can make exceptions. This program brought them to the place where the Messiah would come, they would crucify Him, then the tribulation—the seven years of Daniel's 70th week—was to come, and then Christ would return and set up His Kingdom. But Israel rejected it and blew it. Les notes that all Old Testament prophecies refer to this as a steady flow, with no interruption.
