What did Israel do with the Old Testament program God offered them?
Israel rejected the Old Testament program God offered them. They blew the tremendous opportunity. The program involved the Messiah's coming, crucifixion, the tribulation, and the Kingdom, but Israel rejected it. The Old Testament prophecies refer to this as a steady flow with no interruption.
Les explains that throughout the Old Testament economy, God dealt predominantly with the nation of Israel, with exceptions because God is sovereign. God brought Israel to the place where, according to the Old Testament program, the Messiah would come, they would crucify Him, then the tribulation—Daniel's 70th week—was to come, and then Christ would return and set up His Kingdom. But when confronted with that program, Israel rejected it. As Dorothy always says, they blew it. It was a tremendous opportunity, but they rejected it. Therefore, as Les has shown over the last several weeks, all the Old Testament prophecies refer to this as a steady flow, with no interruption.
