What requirements does Christ meet to pay off the mortgage?

Christ meets the requirements to pay off the mortgage because He has the wherewithal to do it, He is the next of kin, and He will show Himself willing. He is also the Eternal Creator God who instituted that mortgage and finished the work of the cross.

Les explains that Christ is ready to take the scroll from God the Father because of His finished work of the cross and because He is the Eternal, Creator God of the universe. He is the One who instituted that mortgage in the first place. Yet He alone fulfills all the requirements to pay it off: He has the wherewithal to do it, He is the next of kin, and He is going to show Himself willing. Les connects this to Daniel 7:13-14, where the Son of Man is seen, and notes the Son is mentioned in the Old Testament, such as Psalm 2.
