What evidence shows that the church will be removed before the Tribulation?
Revelation does not mention the church from chapter 4 until its closing verses, showing the church age has ended. John's experience in Revelation 4:1, where a door opens in heaven and he hears a voice like a trumpet, symbolically pictures the church being removed before the Tribulation begins.
Les explains that since Revelation deals primarily with Israel's future and the coming Tribulation, he skips the seven letters to the seven churches. After Revelation 3's final verse, "he that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches," that is the last time the word "church" appears until the closing verses. From chapter 4, verse 1, to the end, nothing concerns the church as we know the church age. Therefore, it is evident the church will be gone when the Tribulation begins. This is symbolically pictured in John's own experience in Revelation 4:1: after the church age is completed, he looked and beheld a door opened in heaven, and the first voice he heard was like a trumpet. Les notes it does not say the voice was a trumpet, but like a trumpet. Some try to refute the Rapture because it is associated with a trumpet call, saying only Israel was called with a trumpet, but that limit is gone.
