Will the church be gone when the Tribulation begins?

Yes. The church will be gone when the Tribulation begins. This is evident because the word 'church' does not appear in Revelation from chapter 4 onward until the closing verses, and it is symbolically pictured in John's experience at the open door in chapter 4, verse 1.

Les explains that after the last mention of the church in chapter 3, the word 'church' does not appear again in Revelation until the closing verses. Therefore, from chapter 4, verse 1 to the end, nothing addresses the church as we know the church age. He concludes it is evident the church will be gone when the Tribulation begins. This is symbolically pictured in John's own experience in chapter 4, verse 1. After the church age has been completed and is over, John sees a door opened in heaven and hears a voice like a trumpet, not an actual trumpet.

Revelation 3:22

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Revelation 4:1

After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
