What should you keep in mind about the long interval between the Roman Empires when studying Revelation?
Keep in mind that the nearly two-thousand-year gap between the ancient Roman Empire’s demise and the revived Roman Empire is only a blink of an eye to God. To Him, the interval has never happened, so Revelation’s events are pushed right back-to-back.
Les explains that the ancient Roman Empire ended between 3 and 400 A.D., and the revived Roman Empire is rising now, seen in the European community as the same geographical area. Though almost 1,900 or nearly 2,000 years seems long to us, in the mind of God it is a blink of the eye. What ended in 350 or 360 A.D. and is coming about in the 1990s is as if there is no interval in between; it is all pushed right back-to-back. This is what to keep in mind as you study the Book of Revelation: all of this is as if the whole interval has never happened.
