Who does Daniel say will make a seven-year covenant with Israel?
The prince who comes out of the revived Roman empire will make a seven-year covenant with the nation of Israel. Daniel's prophecy says this ruler signs the treaty, and in the middle of it he turns on Israel and sets himself up as God in the temple.
Les teaches from Daniel 9:25 that this man, the prince coming out of the revived Roman empire, will sign a seven-year treaty with the nation of Israel, and that treaty will run its course according to prophecy. Les explains that in the middle of that seven-year treaty, this ruler will turn on Israel, as Daniel chapter 8 shows, and set himself up as God to be worshipped in the rebuilt temple in Jerusalem. Les then points to Matthew 24:15, where Jesus puts His stamp of approval on Daniel's prophecy by speaking of the abomination of desolation standing in the holy place.
