What curse is Jesus going to pay off?
Jesus will pay off the curse that has been on the world ever since Genesis chapter 3, described as Satan’s mortgage. He alone can do this because of His death, burial, and resurrection, taking that mortgage from God the Father and ending the curse.
Les explains that in Revelation 5 the Lamb, Christ the Son of God, comes before the Ancient of Days according to Daniel and takes the mortgage from the hand of God the Father. He says, in so many words, “I’ll pay it off.” What He pays off is the curse. The world has been under that curse since Genesis chapter 3, and now it is time to end it. Les says He will pay off Satan’s mortgage, and He alone can do it because of His death, burial, and resurrection. He is worthy because He was slain and redeemed us to God out of every kindred, tongue, people, and nation, making us kings and priests who shall reign on the earth. This is the reason for the seven years of tribulation, Satan’s final time.
