What does the number eight represent in the Bible?

Eight represents that which follows the completion of seven, marking another beginning or a new beginning. It is illustrated by the eight souls in Noah’s Ark who began afresh after the flood, and by the eighth “I Am” in Revelation, introducing the new beginning of the eternal day.

Les teaches that seven always refers to deity, while eight always refers to that which follows the completion of number seven. It is another beginning or a new beginning. He illustrates this with Noah’s Ark: eight souls went into the Ark and were the new beginning after the flood. Les also points to Revelation, where Christ has had seven names of deity through Scripture. There are seven “I Am”s in the Old Testament and seven “I Am”s in John, but in Revelation He is the “I Am” of the bright and morning star. That is the eighth “I Am,” the new beginning of the eternal day. Les then connects this to the Antichrist, who is also the eighth, out of the seven, but whose end is perdition.
