Will there be poverty and famine in Daniel's prophesied kingdom?
According to the prophecy, Daniel's kingdom will be a physical, worldwide kingdom marked by productivity and blessing. Scripture indicates there will be no want, no poverty, and no famine. The earth will be productive, with plowshares preparing the ground for tremendous production, and the curse and sin removed.
Les teaches that the kingdom Daniel prophesied in chapter 2 will indeed be on the earth, covering the whole earth and not just Palestine. It will be a glorious earth where everything is productive. He points to the familiar verse about beating swords into plowshares, noting that plowshares prepare the earth for production, so there will be tremendous production. Consequently, there will be no want, no poverty, and no famine. This physical kingdom will also be a glorious spiritual kingdom because there is no curse and no sin, and it will be political since Christ will rule over the planet.
