Les Feldick Bible Study

What kind of events does the book of Daniel prophesy about?

The book of Daniel prophesies about events that would happen to the Gentile world. It is a book of prophecy dealing almost entirely with Gentile world events, written from Shushan. Along with Ezekiel and Revelation, it is one of three books written outside Israel that primarily address Gentile prophecy.

Les explains that Daniel is a book of prophecy that deals almost entirely with events that would happen to the Gentile world. In chapter 8, Daniel sees a vision of the unfolding of immediate history, not the long-term yet. Les also notes that Daniel is one of three books written outside Israel—along with Ezekiel and Revelation—and all three are mostly prophetic and deal primarily with Gentile prophecy. Daniel writes from Shushan on the Tigris River, the capital of the Medean Persian empire, and these books use symbolism.
