Where does the river from the throne room in Jerusalem flow?
The river of living water from the throne room in Jerusalem flows out from Jerusalem, half toward the former sea, the Mediterranean, and half toward the hinder sea, the Dead Sea. It may even continue out to the Persian Gulf.
Les teaches that this river accompanies the return of Christ to the Mount of Olives, to the land of Israel, and to Jerusalem. In that day, living waters go out from Jerusalem, half to the former sea, the Mediterranean, and half to the hinder sea, the Dead Sea, in summer and in winter. He connects this to Ezekiel, where the river of water flows from the throne room in Jerusalem back to the Mediterranean and down to the Dead Sea, and he thinks it will even go on out to the Persian Gulf. Ezekiel says the Dead Sea will have every species of fish that the Mediterranean has now; it will no longer be a saltwater sea but living water. Les notes that today nothing can live in the Dead Sea. Zechariah also says the Lord shall be king over all the earth, showing this kingdom will be on the earth.
