Where was Paul called as an apostle?

Paul was called as an apostle on Gentile ground outside Damascus, not within the borders of Israel. This distinguishes him from the twelve apostles, whom Jesus chose within Israel. The Lord called him from Gentile ground and sent him to the Gentiles.

Les explains that just as Daniel and Revelation are intertwined, there is a drastic difference between the twelve apostles and Paul. Jesus chose the twelve within the borders of Israel, mostly up along Galilee. But Paul would never fit with the twelve because he was never called within Israel's borders. He was called on Gentile ground outside Damascus, which sets him totally apart from the twelve. Les points to Galatians chapter 1 and 2, where Paul emphasizes he had nothing to do with the twelve back in Jerusalem. That is why the Lord called him from Gentile ground and sent him to the Gentiles.
