Where was Paul called by the Lord?

Paul was called by the Lord on Gentile ground outside Damascus, not within the borders of Israel. This calling sets him totally apart from the twelve apostles, who were chosen within Israel. Scripture emphasizes this distinction in Galatians chapter 1 and 2.

Les explains that when studying Daniel and Revelation, they are intertwined and both written from outside Israel. He draws an analogy between the twelve apostles and Paul. Jesus chose the twelve within the borders of Israel, mostly up along Galilee. But Paul, the other apostle, would never fit with the twelve because he was never called within the borders of Israel. He was called on Gentile ground outside Damascus, which sets him totally apart from the twelve. Les points to Galatians chapter 1 and 2, where Paul emphasizes he had nothing to do with the twelve in Jerusalem. The Lord called him from Gentile ground and sent him to the Gentiles.
