What did Peter think he and the eleven apostles would do after the tribulation and kingdom were set up?
Peter envisioned that after the tribulation, Christ’s return, and the kingdom’s establishment, he and the other eleven apostles could carry the knowledge of their Jehovah to the ends of the earth. He did not foresee an interruption; this worldwide witness awaited the king and covenant.
Les explains that Peter could see the whole prophetic program coming—the tribulation, the return of Christ, and the setting up of the kingdom. Peter then thought he and the other eleven apostles could take the knowledge of their Jehovah to the ends of the earth. They did not fulfill the Matthew 28 Great Commission by going to all the world, and they were not remiss, because under the covenant they were not to do that until they had the king. Israel was still under the law, and Peter appears in Acts seven years after Pentecost.
