What will the twelve apostles do in the future kingdom?

In the future kingdom, the twelve apostles will sit under Christ’s throne in Jerusalem and rule the twelve tribes of Israel. This earthly kingdom will be established when Christ sets up His kingdom, fulfilling the land promise to Abraham, with Israel’s homeland in the Middle East.

Les teaches that the twelve apostles will sit under Christ’s throne there at Jerusalem, ruling the twelve tribes. That is the kingdom as the twelve apostles understood it: an earthly kingdom that will not be fulfilled until Christ sets up the kingdom, and then that territory will be the homeland of Israel. Paul also speaks of the kingdom, but since the kingdom is not now on earth but in heaven, Paul speaks of our citizenship being in heaven. He says in Colossians 1 that at salvation we were translated from darkness into the kingdom of His dear Son, which is in heaven. When Christ returns to the earth with His kingdom, we will be with Him. Les explains that when the kingdom is set up, we will come back with Him, not in physical bodies of reproduction or male and female—Jesus said we will be as the angels—but we will be bodily present and will interface with people living, raising children, the animal kingdom, and all that. The early apostles were adherents of this earthly kingdom, and Paul taught it, John taught it, and the one who wrote the Book of Revelation taught it.
