Where, when, and under whose authority were the Twelve to rule the tribes of Israel?
The Twelve were promised they would rule the twelve tribes of Israel from Jerusalem, under the Lord’s authority, when the kingdom is set up and the earth is regenerated back to Garden of Eden conditions. This promise left them anticipating the restoration of the kingdom.
Les explains that after Christ was crucified, buried, and risen, the Twelve’s big concern in Acts was whether He was about to restore the kingdom. Les takes the reader back to Matthew, where Jesus had promised the Twelve that they would indeed rule the Twelve tribes of Israel from Jerusalem under His authority when the kingdom would be set up. Les says the Lord left them with that anticipation, telling them they will rule the Twelve tribes when the kingdom is set up and the earth is regenerated back like it would be in the Garden of Eden.
