What did Jesus promise the twelve apostles about ruling the tribes of Israel?

Jesus promised the Twelve apostles that they would rule the twelve tribes of Israel from Jerusalem under His authority when the kingdom is established. He indicated this would occur when the earth is regenerated back to conditions like the Garden of Eden, giving them a great future hope.

Les explains that the Twelve were concerned in Acts about whether Jesus was about to restore the kingdom. He took them back to Matthew, where Jesus had promised the Twelve that they would indeed rule the twelve tribes of Israel from Jerusalem under His authority when the kingdom would be set up. Les says the Lord left it that way: You will rule the twelve tribes when the kingdom is set up and the earth is regenerated back like it would be in the Garden of Eden. So the disciples were pumped up and had much to look forward to. In Acts, Christ had been crucified, buried, and risen; He had spent 40 days with them in His resurrected body, and was about to ascend from the Mount of Olives with the Eleven, since Judas was gone.
