How many kingdoms does Scripture teach about, and what kingdom will Christ establish when He returns?

Scripture teaches only one kingdom. It is the literal, physical, political kingdom of heaven that Christ will establish on earth at His return, when He becomes King of kings and Lord of lords. It also involves an inner spiritual relationship, as one must be born again to see it.

Les explains that all through Scripture there is only one kingdom, the kingdom Christ will set up on earth when He returns as King of kings and Lord of lords. He notes that even when Jesus said the kingdom is within you, it means an inner spiritual relationship is required to become part of that literal, physical, political kingdom. That kingdom of heaven is the same kingdom that will one day be on earth. John the Baptist announced it was at hand because Jesus, the essence of the kingdom, was about to begin His earthly ministry. It is not merely a spiritual, ethereal, invisible kingdom, though it is spiritual; it will come to fruition when Christ returns and sets it up on the earth.
