What does Paul emphasize in Galatians 1 and 2 about the twelve apostles?

Paul emphasizes that he had nothing to do with the twelve apostles back in Jerusalem. His apostolic calling stood separate from them because he was not chosen within Israel; he was called on Gentile ground outside Damascus. Scripture directs readers to Galatians 1 and 2 to see this distinction clearly.

Les explains that just as Daniel and Revelation are intertwined, there is a drastic difference between the twelve apostles and Paul. Jesus chose the twelve within the borders of Israel, mostly up along Galilee. Paul, the other apostle, would never fit among the twelve because he was never called within Israel's borders. He was called on Gentile ground outside Damascus, which sets him totally apart from the twelve. Les says if you doubt this, read Galatians chapter 1 and chapter 2 carefully, and you'll quickly notice Paul emphasizes that he had nothing to do with the twelve back there in Jerusalem. That is why the Lord called him from Gentile ground and sent him to the Gentiles.
