What did God finally have to do to the northern kingdom of Israel in 2 Kings 17?

According to 2 Kings 17, the Lord finally removed the northern kingdom of Israel out of His sight. He rejected all the seed of Israel, afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers until He cast them out. Israel was carried away captive to Assyria.

Les explains that this concerned the northern kingdom, the northern ten tribes. In 2 Kings 17:18, the Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them out of His sight, leaving none but the tribe of Judah. Verse 20 says the Lord rejected all the seed of Israel and afflicted them, delivering them into the hand of spoilers until He had cast them out of His sight. God had rent Israel from the house of David when they seceded, and because the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam and did not depart from them, verse 23 says the Lord removed Israel out of His sight, and Israel was carried away to the Assyrians.

2 Kings 17:18

Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
