Can the church be placed under prophecy?

No, the church cannot be placed under prophecy. The context states there is no prophecy given to the church, so the church does not know when the Lord will come for her. Prophecy mandates date setting, and if a date could be set, that would put the church back under prophecy, which cannot happen.

Les teaches that true Old Testament prophecy not only foretells something but places it in a time frame, and God's timing is exact. He says this kind of prophecy is always associated only with the nation of Israel. Because prophecy mandates date setting for the most part, and because there is no prophecy given to the church, the church does not know when the Lord will come for her. If a date could be set, then the church would be put back under prophecy, and that cannot be done—just as the church cannot be put under law. The two absolutely will not mix, and there is nothing designated date or time wise for the church.
