What is the true definition of Bible prophecy?
True Bible prophecy is not merely any prediction of future events; it is God foretelling something and placing it in an exact time frame, so it happens precisely as He said. Such prophecy is associated only with Israel, mandates date setting, and is never given to the church.
Les explains that many people do not have the real, true definition of prophecy. They think anything that speaks of something in the future is prophetic; maybe it is, but Old Testament Bible prophecy always includes more. God not only foretells something, He also puts it in a time frame. His timing is so exact that when He says something will happen prophetically at a certain time in the future—whether forty years, seventy years, five hundred years, or even a thousand years or more—it will happen exactly as God said. That is true prophecy. Les teaches that this is always associated only with the nation of Israel. Prophecy mandates date setting for the most part, but there is no prophecy given to the church. Therefore the church does not know when the Lord will come for her. If a date could be set, then the church would be put back under prophecy, and you cannot do that, just as you cannot put the church under law. The two absolutely will not mix. Nothing is designated date or time wise for the church.
