How far did Israel's territory reach at its peak under David and Solomon?

Israel's territory at its peak under David and Solomon reached only a little beyond Galilee and slightly beyond the Jordan River. The nation never occupied the full extent of the land God deeded to Abraham, which stretched from the wilderness and Lebanon to the great river Euphrates.

Les explains that although God deeded the land to Abraham and later to Joshua, saying every place the sole of their foot treads is given, from the wilderness and Lebanon to the Euphrates, Israel never occupied all of it. Under David and Solomon they ventured a little beyond Galilee and a little beyond the Jordan River, but that has been the extent. Even today Israel sits strictly between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean, from a little south of Jerusalem up to the southern border of Lebanon.
