What concord does a believer have with an infidel?
None. The believing one has no concord or relationship with an infidel; the two are incompatible. This follows Paul’s command not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, and the context stresses that God’s people must be separated from the world.
Les explains 2 Corinthians 6:14–15, where Paul says, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers.” Verse 15 then asks what concord or relationship the one who believes has with an infidel. Les emphasizes that separation is not heard much anymore, and he maintains this is exactly why Christianity has lost its power. The average person cannot see any difference between the average Christian and the average person of the world, but God did not intend it that way. Just as He separated Israel from Egypt, He wants to separate believers from the world. This does not mean being oddballs or constantly asking for persecution by our actions, but the world should know where we stand. So all the way through, we have to be separated.
And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
