Who was promised the land of Canaan in the covenant God established in Exodus 6:4?

The land of Canaan was promised to the children of the covenant—the children of Abraham, the nation of Israel. In Exodus 6:4 God says He established His covenant to give them Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage wherein they were strangers, and He remembered that covenant.

Les teaches that this is the Abrahamic covenant, the covenant God made with Abraham, and all of Scripture rests on it. In Exodus 6, God again comes back to that covenant, saying He established it to give the children of the covenant—the children of Abraham, the nation of Israel—the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage wherein they were strangers. Les explains that God heard the groaning of the children of Israel in Egyptian bondage and remembered His covenant. He stresses that God will never forget it and is not through with the Jew; His covenants with Abraham, Isaac, and the nation of Israel remain uppermost.
