What do all the Jehovah-names together tell us about God's relationship with Israel?

The Jehovah-names together reveal that God is everything to the nation of Israel. They show His intrinsic involvement in their history: Healer, Banner, Righteousness, and Presence. They are all wrapped up in the one name Jehovah, demonstrating His covenant faithfulness, protection, redemption, and future presence with Israel.

Les teaches that these Jehovah-names are intrinsic with God's dealing with Israel. Jehovah-Repha means He is the healer or protector from disease, as He promised to keep Israel from Egypt's diseases if they obeyed His commandments. Jehovah-Nissi, 'our banner,' recalls Israel's first war against the Amalekites, where Moses' upheld hands brought victory. Jehovah-Sidkenu means 'Jehovah our righteousness.' Jehovah-Shammah means 'I am there,' pointing to the future when Christ will rule on the earth and be in Israel's presence. All these names are wrapped up in the one name Jehovah, showing He is everything to the nation of Israel. God also established His covenant with Abraham to give Israel the land of Canaan, heard their groaning in Egyptian bondage, and remembered that covenant to redeem them. Paul and other writers likewise speak of our redemption.
