What is wrong with Christianity today according to Les?
Christianity today has lost its distinctiveness. There is no observable difference between believers and unbelievers. Most people cannot tell a Christian from an unbeliever by behavior or lifestyle. God intended His people to be separated, holy, and different, not indistinguishable from the world around them.
Les explains that just as God brought Israel out of Egypt to be a separated, holy people who had nothing to do with the people around them, the same lesson applies today. Christianity has gotten to the place where there is no difference: most people cannot tell a Christian from an unbeliever by looking at his behavior, lifestyle, and everything. That is not what God intended; believers are to be different. Les clarifies this does not mean being complete oddballs or walking with a long face. Believers, of all people, have reason to be joyful in this perplexing world. He then points to 1 Corinthians chapter 6, where Paul writes that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God, listing fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, effeminate, abusers of mankind, thieves, covetous, and so forth. Verse 11 says, "And such were some of you," past tense—not anymore.
