Why could God not use Moses when he was mighty?

God could not use Moses when he was mighty, had power, and had clout because God chooses the foolish and weak things of the world to confound the mighty. Moses went out in the energy of the flesh, thinking he could deliver Israel by his own strength.

Les explains that 1 Corinthians chapter 1 is the key. Paul writes that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty. Les puts that right back in perspective with Moses. When Moses was mighty, when he had power, when he had clout, God could not use him. Moses went out in the energy of the flesh and thought he could deliver the children of Israel. So God had to put Moses on the backside of the desert for 40 years to prepare him from God's point of view to be an instrument God could use.
