What did God do when He looked at Israel in Exodus 2:25?

In Exodus 2:25, when God looked upon the children of Israel, He had respect unto them. He remembered them, and He was now ready to start making things happen according to His covenant promises made to Abraham, repeated to Isaac, and repeated to Jacob.

Les teaches that God heard Israel's groaning and remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. That Abrahamic covenant promised a great nation, a geographical area, and a king—the Son of God, the Messiah. So at Exodus 2:25, God looked upon the children of Israel, had respect unto them, and remembered them. Les explains that God was now going to start making things happen according to His prophetic utterances to Abraham, which He repeated to Isaac and Jacob, and that covenant carries all the way through.
