What was Moses's occupation after he fled from Egypt?

After fleeing Egypt, Moses became a shepherd, keeping the flock of Jethro his father. The text plainly identifies his title as shepherd. Though he had been an Egyptian for all practical purposes, his occupation after fleeing was that of tending and keeping sheep.

Les explains that in chapter 3, Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father, and when the question is asked, 'In plain English, what's his title?' the answer is repeated: 'He's a shepherd.' Les emphasizes that for all practical purposes Moses was an Egyptian, making this shepherd occupation striking. Les then points to Genesis 46:34 to show what this did to the man Moses, connecting it to God remembering His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and being ready to start making things happen for Israel.

Exodus 3:1

Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.
