How did Moses come to identify the Hebrew slaves as his own relatives?
Moses came to identify the Hebrew slaves as his own relatives by faith. Though he was the second most powerful man in Egypt, he realized that the people in bondage and slavery were his kinfolk, and that according to all the promises, they would one day leave Egypt and return to Canaan.
Les teaches that Moses made his presentation to the children of Israel and had hoped to deliver them. He had everything going for him, being the second most powerful man in Egypt, but by faith he realized that those people in bondage and slavery were his kinfolk. According to all the promises, they would one day leave Egypt and go back up to Canaan. Les then notes that a question came up during the break time—how did they know, or how much did they know?—and he directs the class back to Genesis 15 for review.
