Les Feldick Bible Study

What pattern did Les point out about Jews in Gentile governments?

A recurring pattern is that a Jew who is a foreigner in a Gentile land often becomes one of the top men in government. Joseph, sold into Egypt, was made governor over Egypt and Pharaoh's house, and Daniel is another example.

Les points out that this has happened often through human history: a Jew who is foreign in a Gentile land yet becomes one of the top men in government. In Acts 7, Stephen recounts how the patriarchs moved with envy and sold Joseph into Egypt, but God was with him, delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favor and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, who made him governor over Egypt and all his house. Les then asks for another familiar example and identifies Daniel.
