How will the new covenant become a reality for Israel?

When Christ returns, the nation of Israel will suddenly realize who He is. As Zechariah 12:10 is fulfilled, God will pour out the spirit of grace and supplications, and they will look on the One they pierced and mourn. Then the new covenant becomes reality: every believing Jew will know He is their God and they are His people.

Les explains that when Christ returns, Israel as a nation will suddenly realize who He is. Zechariah 12:10 says God will pour out upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem the spirit of grace and supplications, and they shall look upon Him whom they pierced, and they shall mourn for Him. There will be a time of weeping, a reunion, as the one they rejected, crucified, and killed is finally their God. That is when the new covenant will become a reality, and every believing Jew will suddenly know that He is their God and that they are His people. Les connects this to Joseph revealing himself to his brothers in Genesis 45, where there was a session of weeping as they began that great reunion, showing God's sovereign plan at work.
