Will forgiven sins ever come back to haunt or plague a Christian?
Forgiven sins will not come back to haunt or plague a Christian. They are under the blood of Christ, buried in the deepest sea, and removed as far as east from west. God has placed a 'no fishing' sign over them, so they are gone and will never be held against the believer.
Les explains that a mistaken idea says believers will one day come before the judgment seat of Christ and have to answer for sin, but he emphatically says never. Our sins are forgiven and under the blood; Christ took care of it, so we will never stand before Him with sin on our back. When people wonder if a trial is due to unconfessed sin, Les asks if they are a child of God and know it; if so, they should forget the idea of sin on their back. He illustrates that sins are buried in the deepest sea with a sign over them reading 'no fishing,' removed as far as east from west, so they will not come back and plague us. They are gone. This is being justified, freely by God's grace through redemption—losing something and buying it back. When Adam sinned, God lost the human race, and He had to buy us back with a price.
