What does every person have to realize and do to be saved?

Every person must realize they are a total undone creature, incapable of doing anything to earn salvation. They must call out for the mercy and grace of God, believing that everything needed for their salvation was accomplished at the cross. This is faith, and nothing can be added to it.

Les explains that just as God saved Saul by grace—though he was on his way to Damascus to arrest believers, and did nothing to deserve it—so every person must come to the same place. We must realize we are totally undone, with nothing we can do, and simply call out for God's mercy and grace, believing everything needed was accomplished at the cross. That is faith, and nothing can be added to it. This aligns with being not under law but under grace.
