What was love epitomized?

The love poured out at the cross epitomized love, being the greatest act of love ever done. It flowed from God's grace—His undeserved favor and mercy toward sinners—not angelic beings but undeserving sons of Adam, because He loved them as sinners.

Les explains that love was epitomized at the cross, where God poured out undeserved favor and mercy on sinners. He emphasizes that believers today are not under law but under grace, and grace is that attribute of God capable of showing unmerited favor. Paul writes in verse 21 that he does not frustrate the grace of God, for if righteousness comes by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. The cross was the greatest act of love ever done, because He loved us as undeserving sinners, not as angelic beings.
