What was the greatest act of love ever done?

The greatest act of love ever done was the cross, where love was poured out for undeserving sinners. It was love epitomized—as great an act of love as has ever been done—because He loved us as sinners, not angelic beings, and poured out grace rather than law.

Les explains that believers today are not under the law but under grace. Grace is that attribute of God capable of pouring out undeserved favor and mercy on sinners, all because of the love poured out at the cross. He teaches that the cross was love epitomized and as great an act of love as has ever been done, because He loved us as sinners—undeserving, not angelic beings. Paul therefore refuses to frustrate the grace of God, for if righteousness came by the law or legalism, then Christ is dead in vain.
