What is the power of our salvation epitomized in?

For believers, the power of salvation is epitomized at the resurrection of Christ, where it reaches its crescendo. The power of Christ's resurrection makes salvation possible; otherwise, Scripture says, we remain dead in our sins. It is God's power, not human effort, that accomplishes this.

Les explains that just as Israel could not cross the Red Sea by a pontoon bridge or by requisitioning ships and boats, but had to wait on the power of God, so the believer's salvation is not accomplished by human means. He connects this to 1 Corinthians 5:7, where Paul writes that Christ our Passover was sacrificed for us, and he says the old leaven is to be put out because our sin problem has been removed by forgiveness and salvation, making us an unleavened people. For us, the power of our salvation is epitomized, or brought to its crescendo, at the resurrection. It is the power of the resurrection of Christ that makes our salvation possible; otherwise, the Scripture says, we are yet dead in our sins.

1 Corinthians 15:17

And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
