What did Aquila and Priscilla do after hearing Apollos speak in the synagogue?

After hearing Apollos speak boldly in the synagogue, Aquila and Priscilla took him unto them and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly. They could do this because they had been with Paul, and Apollos listened and learned from these two laypeople.

Les explains that Aquila and Priscilla heard Apollos speaking boldly in the synagogue, so they took him unto them and expounded unto him the way of God more completely and perfectly. They were able to do this because they had been with Paul. Although Apollos was eloquent, famous, and seminary-taught, he was gentleman enough to listen and learn from those two little lay people. Later, when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote exhorting the disciples to receive him, and he helped much those who had believed through grace. Les then contrasts this with Paul’s account in Galatians 1, where Paul says the gospel he preached was not after man, neither received of man nor taught by men, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
