What kind of people is Israel in God's plan?

Israel is God's earthly people with earthly promises, and everything concerning them is earthly. In the allegory of the two covenants, Israel received the Law from Moses at Mount Sinai after coming out of Egypt, and that covenant genders to bondage, pictured by Hagar.

Les teaches that Israel is God's earthly people with earthly promises; everything concerning them is earthly. The allegory presents two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai genders to bondage and is Hagar. At Sinai, after Israel came out of Egypt and crossed the Dead Sea, God called Moses up the mountain and gave him the Law, the Ten Commandments, and all the rest. Moses came down and gave the Law to the nation of Israel. God thus used a man to give the Law to Israel, and the comparison with Ishmael underscores Israel's earthly place in God's plan.
