What did the angel say about Jesus coming again at His ascension?
At the ascension, the angel asked the men of Galilee why they stood gazing into heaven, then declared that this same Jesus, who had been taken up from them, would come again in like manner. This assures His literal, bodily return, just as He ascended.
Les explains that at the time of Christ's ascension, the angel asked, “Why ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven?” Then the angel said, “This same Jesus, as you have seen go, in like manner shall come again.” Les connects this promise with Zechariah's prophecy that in the day of His second coming, His feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives. The same ascended Jesus will therefore literally come again.
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
