What is the second law of thermodynamics?

The second law of thermodynamics states that even though nothing is created or destroyed, everything is constantly moving into a less usable state. It became operative when sin and the curse entered the picture, and the scientific term for this deterioration is entropy.

Les teaches that the first law says nothing is being created nor destroyed. Then, with sin coming in and the curse on the scene, the second law of thermodynamics became operative. He explains it this way: even though nothing is created nor destroyed, everything is constantly going into a less usable state. The scientific word is entropy. He illustrates with a beautiful home left locked for a year without anyone watching it. It will be worse, not better: a windstorm knocks off shingles, a hailstorm may break windows, and something always makes it deteriorate. He also uses a tree. It may take a hundred years for nature to grow it, with sunlight, rain, and nutrients from the ground. When cut down, cut up, and burned in a fireplace until only ashes remain, it seems destroyed. But every part of that tree is still in the universe, including the heat that went up the chimney, because heat is energy.
