Why do so few believers understand God's grace?
Few believers understand God's grace because grace is an attribute of God that is far above and beyond the human intellect, making it hard for us to comprehend. Even believers struggle to grasp it, as it transcends human reasoning and cannot be fully understood through natural understanding alone.
Les teaches that grace is an attribute of God, just as He is righteous and just. He recalls mentioning to a seminary president that grace was an attribute, and the man said he had never thought of it that way before. Although Les tends to think a highly educated man is right and he is wrong, he still holds that the grace of God is an attribute. The reason very few people, even believers, understand grace is that this attribute is so far above and beyond the human intellect that it is hard for us to comprehend. He notes that some people have told him they never had a grasp of grace until they heard him teach it.
