How are we made righteous according to 1 Corinthians 15?

According to 1 Corinthians 15, we are made righteous—right standing with God—by the Gospel Paul preached, which we received, stand in, and are saved by, keeping it in memory lest we believe in vain. That is the simple Gospel of verses 1-4.

Les explains that 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 is probably the simplest place in all of Scripture where the Gospel is presented—so simple a child can understand it, yet it is as much as you need. The Gospel is the Word of Truth that believers trust in Christ after hearing. Paul declares this Gospel, which the Corinthians received, stand in, and are saved by. Les emphasizes that we are made righteous, right standing with God, if we keep in memory what was preached, lest we believe in vain. In other words, you have to know what you believe.

1 Corinthians 15:2

By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
