What is the difference between the Body of Christ and Israel after Paul's commissioning?

After Paul's commissioning to the Gentiles, the Body of Christ is heavenly, while Israel remains God's earthly people. Israel's promises, Temple, and hopes were earthly; the Body of Christ is connected to the Jerusalem which is in heaven, not an earthly Temple. Both will ultimately come under Christ's reign.

Les teaches that all the way up through the Old Testament, Israel under the Abrahamic covenant, including Christ's earthly ministry and the early chapters of Acts, dealt with God's earthly people, Israel. Israel had only earthly promises; the Jew knew nothing of dying and going to heaven. Job spoke of seeing his Redeemer stand on the earth in the latter days, not in heaven. Their Temple in Jerusalem was earthly, and Hebrews compares that past where God resided in the Temple in the Shekinah glory. But now, from Paul's commissioning to go to the Gentiles, the Body of Christ is heavenly, connected to the Jerusalem which is in heaven, not an earthly Temple. Israel remains earthly, and eventually God will wind up everything with His earthly people, then bring in the thousand years when Christ is King of kings and Lord of lords, with everything earthly and heavenly under His reign.
